I bought this in-line fan to pump warm air into a chase containing hot and cold water pipes. When outdoor temperatures drop below 15 degrees Fahrenheit, the air in the chase falls below freezing, so I was worried that the pipes would freeze. This little fan together with flex duct (I stripped away the outer insulation) solved the problem. Very nice furnace, works great. I used all metal duct work in a cool basement. You lose a lot of heat just warming the duct work. You may want to use the insulated variety as it will not lose as much heat prior to reaching its final destination. I really don't care because I want some heat in my basement anyway. Also, you may want to move to a higher btu level to resolve this issue. If I had to do over, I would have gone with an 80,000 btu instead of the 60,000. All in all, it still gets the... more
